Alex, feel free to check out Bon Iver (I think you'd really like him) but keep in mind that I am losing interest in him very quickly, mostly because of the hype which I feel is not entirely warranted. His so called genius album only has 9 tracks (one is a short instrumental track) and it's kind of boring. Plus it's really hard to understand his words. Three strikes?

is this really another best of 2008 post that mentions bon Iver somewhere in there?!

;) well, bon iver is probably awesome but I am not cool enough to have heard his music, i probably became less cool even this year, my culture about contemporary music and even movie making (after such a magnificent year last year) is just waning this year, but I really can't blame them, it is all me (and in the case of movies, 2007's blame for being so good).

At least I know about Tegan and Sarah (thanks to you), and I am actually currently listening to The Welcome Wagon (also thanks to you, and good stuff btw). My last purchase last this week was a copy I found at a best buy of sufjan stevens' seven swams, so I guess I have to give that a good listen.

Given.. his? apparent importance for the year for the album, and your more than one mentions of.. it, I am now a bit intrigued about that bon iver, but I fear if I really listen to him closely, I could pathologically end up playing the conciliator between him, you, and the world, and part of me just rather stay with those bands you love more decidedly. Though for now I am just more than content with Welcome Wagon and feel little need of much else that is new, musically speaking.

Wow, that attitude goes to prove how the year itself can't to blamed for my lack of music world kno... notions for the year!
