I did make it! It was actually really refreshing to have the extra quiet time and not feel like I needed to constantly be playing music (of course I still heard music here and there, such things are unavoidable). The first album I listened to after Easter (or maybe on Easter?) was Sufjan Stevens’ Illinoise… how predictable! But it was fantastic. I mean, I’d heard it a million times before, but there was something about coming off of an intentional period of “music fasting” that made it even better than before…

That’s awesome Molly… I think that was the best part about giving up music, or limiting music, is just that it gave time to clear your head and maybe focus outside of the rawkin’ beats God time is good time!

I thought about you this morning on my way to work…and turned off my music for half of my drive. I prayed and prayed. It was a good start to my day; I’ve added it to my Lenton promises…the first twenty-five minutes of my drive to school MWF are my specially designated God time.
