Ants are covering our floor,
a writhing, crawling carpet.
The overtake me, climbing up my ankles, past my knees.
It’s disgusting
Over my wrists, across my neck
I get the vacuum.
I am a lover of cats and dogs, ducks and geese, mice and frogs.
I am a saver of spiders and bees
But I will destroy this entire colony
And not lose any sleep over it.
